The Eurasian Hoopoe is the national bird of Israel. It has a long beak and a beautiful orange crest with black dots. The crest is opened up in full display when the Hoopoe lands or is excited. Its wings are decorated with black and white stripes. It feeds on small insects by poking its long beak into the soil.

If you already watched animal movie just released late November, one of them is the new character (a blue snake) who is at the center of the story. The character was inspired by an endemic snake in Indonesia. Its unique body color makes fans associate it with the Sunda Island Pit Viper or a species with the scientific name Trimeresurus insularis. The Sunda Island Pit Viper is a species native to Komodo Island. There, the most common Sunda Island Pit Viper snakes are found in green and blue. This reptile was first discovered in the Lesser Sunda Islands in Indonesia. Then, this snake spread to several regions of Indonesia, such as East Java, Alor, Bali, Flores, Lombok, Sumba, Sumbawa, Timor, and Wetar. The species will inhabit dry and humid tropical forests, and can be found in rural gardens. It is a type of snake that has a size between 60-90 cm with a lifespan of up to 20 years. It has a light blue color and a red tail. Trimeresurus insularis is a venomous snake with a fairly strong level of toxicity. It can work by attacking body tissues and the circulatory system. The Sunda Island Pit Viper is a nocturnal animal that is very active at night. This hunting activity is usually done after sunset when the temperature is more humid. I think it would be great to have Blue pit viper stamp as Indonesia (please see the attached pics) Hope we could have Sunda Island Pit Viper or Blue Pit Viper stamp in near future.
